《The Gentlewoman》创刊，许多人纷纷在谈论的是，Jop van Bennekom 与 Gert Jonkers 将 Gentleman 改作 Fantastic Man，原来是将 Gentle- 以备后用，时至今日终于推出姊妹刊《The Gentlewoman》。说到女人，人们更多地会想到品味、风格、机智或是幽默，但杂志的主编 Penny Martin 则认为 The Gentlewoman 其实是在明确女人们对于未来的预期，并不只是陈述过去。

杂志也具有个人化的风格，内容鼓舞人心，耐人寻味，并且充满乐趣。在形式上，封面及内页的许多照片均采用黑白色调，设计亦如《Fantastic Man》一样简洁。内容同样有大段的文字，以及深入的采访，另有一些特定的主题，比如模特 Daisy Lowe 的居家问答，设计师Josephine Chime的交通释疑，和时装设计师Louise Gray谈时间管理等。
